Who is protected by state social insurance?
Citizens are covered on two different bases. Find the type of protection that fits you.
Voluntary insurance
Applies on a voluntary basis to people such as:
- self-employed persons
- Uzbek citizens employed abroad
- dehqan (peasant) farm members & heads
- founders earning income from legal entities
- owners of subsidiary plots & their family
- family-business members (no legal entity)
- individual entrepreneurs & “Hunarmand” members
- non-working citizens (paid by a spouse)
Pay a voluntary contribution from just 2% of the minimum wage and build your own insurance tenure - for yourself or a spouse, right in the Baraka app.
Mandatory insurance
Applies on a mandatory basis if you are:
- working under a formal employment contract
- providing services under a civil-law contract (GPC)
- engaged in other formal activity set by law
Your organisation insures you automatically - no separate application required.
What benefits are paid?
Each benefit is calculated from your average wage and insurance tenure. The two columns below show what differs between mandatory and voluntary cover.
Pregnancy & childbirth benefit
A one-time lump sum for the maternity leave period. Paid to the Baraka card from 1 January 2026. The amount is a percentage of your average monthly wage, set by insurance tenure:
From a notional wage based on your contributions. Same tenure & percentages.
Calculated from your reported official wage.
Temporary disability benefit
Paid for up to 180 days a year when you're ill. Credited to the Baraka card from 1 July 2026.
At least 6 months of tenure is required:
No employer - first 5 days are on you. The Fund pays from day 6.
Employer covers the first 5 days. The Fund pays from day 6.
This calculator provides an approximate result; the official amount is determined by the State Social Insurance Fund system.

The daily rate is the average monthly wage divided by 25.3 (average working days per month), then multiplied by the tenure rate. 12% income tax is withheld from the sick-leave benefit; if you are entitled to a tax refund, you can reclaim it through the soliq.uz app. The employer covers the first 5 days; the Fund pays from day 6. Sundays and non-working public holidays are excluded from the count in the official calculation. Note: for certain categories (disability, 4+ children, or a child with a disability) the benefit is increased — not reflected here.
