What is the legal basis for providing the service?

The relevant paragraphs of Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of the Administrative Regulation approved by Resolution No. 354 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 25, 2024.

What is done regarding the perpetrator when a protection order is issued?

The preventive inspector conducts a mandatory preventive interview with the person who committed harassment and violence and explains the conditions of the order to them (such as keeping a distance from the woman, not making contact, etc.) (Paragraph 11).

What happens if the protection order expires due to undergoing medical treatment in a hospital?

An exemption exists. If a woman is sent to a hospital due to certain diseases prohibited at the center, she can be re-admitted to the rehabilitation center (shelter) after finishing her treatment, even if the protection order has expired in the meantime (Paragraph 21).

Is a protection order required for placement in a rehabilitation center (shelter)?

Yes, it is required. In order for women to utilize the in-depth and long-term (up to 6 months) assistance services of regional rehabilitation centers, a protection order must be processed and issued for them (Paragraphs 18 and 21).

Where is the information entered once the protection order is processed?

The preventive inspector immediately enters the protection order details and the victim's needs into the "E-himoya orderi" (Electronic Protection Order) digital system. This information automatically reaches the "Inson" centers as well (Paragraph 11).

How long does it take to issue a protection order?

Within 24 hours. After registering a report of violence, the preventive inspector is required to issue a protection order within a 24-hour period (Paragraph 11).

Where and how can a protection order be obtained?

By calling the internal affairs bodies' "102" number or by contacting your local preventive inspector. Additionally, "Inson" centers also assist women in obtaining a protection order (Paragraphs 8 and 9).
