When is the payment stopped?

Upon the person’s death, loss of the right to assistance, or departure abroad for permanent residence (Clause 69).

How much is paid to those living in social support centers (pensions)?

Persons living in centers are paid 20% of the allowance for their personal expenses (Clause 68).

From which funds are the payments made?

From the republican budget funds of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Clause 11).

What is the legal basis for the service?

Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 119, dated March 23, 2023 (as amended by Resolution No. 316, dated May 31, 2024).

How is the assistance granted?

According to the decree, by digitalizing the system, these payments are granted in a “proactive form” (based on electronic database information, without requiring additional documents from the citizen) (Clause 3).

Which expenses is this assistance intended to cover?

1. Food products;
2. Personal hygiene items;
3. Housing and utility service fees (Clause 2).

Who is eligible for this assistance?

Single elderly persons and single persons with disabilities in need of care (those included in the Registry) (Clause 2).

Why is this financial assistance provided?

It is provided as a monthly cash payment instead of the food products and personal hygiene items that were previously distributed for free (Clause 1).

What are the grounds for rejection?

Rejection is only possible if there are medical contraindications specified in Clause 4 of the Regulation (mental disorders, infectious diseases, etc.).

What are the forms of assistance provided?

In addition to residence, there are mobile services (home visits), day-care attendance, and short-term inpatient (temporary stay) options (Clause 49 of the Regulation).
