Baraka Card for Students: What You Need to Know
The scholarships of students admitted to the first year in the 2026/2027 academic year will be paid via the Baraka card.
So how do students get a Baraka card, and how are scholarships transferred to it? You can learn about the process in detail below.
- Getting the card and receiving scholarship payments
The procedure for obtaining a Baraka card differs depending on the student’s year of study:
For first-year students. The scholarships of students admitted to the first year in the current academic year are paid via the Baraka card. These cards are issued for students by Aloqabank, prepared through cooperation between the higher education institution and the bank, and handed over to students.
For senior students. Senior students can order a Baraka card on their own through the Baraka app. If your scholarship is currently paid to a different bank card, once you receive your new Baraka card, subsequent payments will automatically start going to the new card.
Important note. This new procedure does not apply to senior students of all higher education institutions at the same time. State higher education institutions are transitioning to the Baraka system in stages. Currently, about 500,000 students are using the Baraka card.
- Card cost and payment terms
Free of charge. If you are a student at a state higher education institution, the Baraka card is provided to you free of charge.
When is a fee charged? Students will need to pay for the card in the following two cases:
- When the card is lost and a replacement is ordered;
- When the card becomes unusable or is physically damaged.
- What happens if the card is not ready on time?
If the Baraka card is not ready by the set deadline, the student’s scholarship will not be delayed. The payment will be credited to the bank card the student used before.
With the Baraka card, students can transfer money abroad and use foreign payment systems.
